The hesychasterion of St. Basil

(Hermitage of Agios Vasileios, Ησυχαστήριο Άγιος Βασίλειος) is an area in the desert of Mount Athos that belongs to the Monastery of Megistis Lavra and where its hermitages are located. It is located between Kerasia and Mikria Agia Anna.In the 18th century it was a hermitage. There are eleven hermitages where fifteen monks reside.

St. Joseph the Hesychast and his brotherhood, including disciples Arsenios the Cave Dweller, Paisius Velichkovsky and others.
