On September 11, 2024:Forest Fire in the Arapis Area of Mount Athos. A forest fire broke out in the Arapis (Cape Arapis) region of Mount Athos on September 11, 2024. The Greek Fire Service mobilized 45 firefighters, including 2 pedestrian teams from the 2nd EMODE (Special Disaster Response Unit), 11 vehicles, and 2 helicopters to combat the blaze
